Violence against women and girls is the world’s most pervasive human rights violation. It’s also the one most often ignored.

You can ensure that as Canada’s first rape crisis centre we can continue to:

• Operate a 24 hour crisis line for survivors of sexual violence, their family and friends (last year we received over 16,000 calls)
• Offer face to face counseling and support (free and confidential)
• Provide advocacy and accompaniment to survivors negotiating the legal/medical system
• Create award winning campaigns that educate and foster change
• Provide information and referrals to a wide range of agencies and services

Last year hundreds of people joined together for Bowlathon 2005 and raised almost $100,000 to show their support and commitment to end violence against women and children. This year, our 13th Annual Bowlathon takes place February 25, 2006 with a goal of $125,000 and 125 teams.

Please invest in the girls and women of our community. We are asking you for a donation of goods or services that can be used to reward individuals or teams of bowlers. Although we are grateful to receive any type of donation, we hope that you can help us in this special way. We would love to hear from you by January 21, 2006 in order to meet our first promotional deadline.
