BOWLATHON 2009

Saturday February 27, 2010
Bowlarama West, 5429 Dundas Street West, Toronto

10 STEPS TO BECOMING A TEAM CAPTAIN

  1. Organize your friends, family and/or co-workers into a team of 6 to 8 bowlers. No bowling experience necessary.

  2. Choose a team name. Be silly, daring, or quirky - it’s all about having fun!

  3. Decide when – and how – you want to bowl: 4pm or 7pm.  Both shifts offer 5 or 10 pin cosmic bowling.

  4. Register: Email us at bowlathon2010@trccmwar.ca or call 416-597-1171x233. Please register by January  20th, 2010 to qualify to win Early Bird Prizes .
  5. Make sure all team members have a pledge form. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more, if requested.
  6. Make sure all team members set up a canadahelps.org online Giving Page. It is so easy. Please see attached information on how to set up your individual Giving Page!
  7. Collect pledges & on-line donations. As many as you can!
  8. As Team Captain, you are the cheerleader for your group’s fundraising efforts. Prizes are awarded to those who go the extra mile! More funds raised = bigger prizes!
  9. Before the Bowlathon, remind your team members to bring all the money they’ve raised to the Bowlathon. Cheques can be made payable to the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre.
  10. On the day of the Bowlathon, as Team Captain, your job is to collect your teams' money and pledge forms and bring them to the registration desk before your bowling shift. This is where you can pick up any prizes your team members have earned. Please ensure the money and cheques collected by each bowler are equal to the amount pledged. The total on each Pledge Form must match the amount of money submitted on the day of the Bowlathon.

10+. Go bowling and have fun!

MORE INFO: Make sure all team members have a pledge form (MS-DOC) and a postcard. Each bowler will canvas their network of family, friends, etc... to collect pledges to bowl. The pledges are a flat fee, not a per pin amount. Tax receipts will only be issued for donations of $20.00 or more, and only if requested. Also, we ask all bowlers to ensure that names and addresses are legible and complete with postal code.

New! If you have family or friends who wish to donate but you are unable to collect their pledge, they can donate directly to us online at: www.canadahelps.org - Once your amount is determined you can direct it to the virtual bowler.
